The qBittorrent 5.2.0 torrent client has been released. It is written using the Qt toolkit and is being developed as an open alternative to µTorrent, with an interface and functionality similar to it. qBittorrent features include: an integrated search engine, RSS subscription, support for many BEP extensions, remote control via a web interface, a sequential download mode in a specified order, advanced settings for torrents, peers and trackers, a bandwidth planner and IP filter, an interface for creating torrents, and support for UPnP and NAT-PMP. The project code is written in C++ and is distributed under the GPLv2+ license. Builds are generated for Linux, Windows and macOS.
Among the changes:
- The ability to customize the colors of the download progress and download map panels has been added. An option has been added to use the color corresponding to the torrent's status in the download progress bar.


- A button (palette icon) for calling the torrent creation interface (Torrent Creator) has been added to the toolbar.

- An interface for customizing style and color scheme has been implemented for all platforms.

- Added an option to reboot the system after torrent downloads are complete.
- Added an option to disable color indication of torrent status.
- Added a setting to control the lifetime of records in the DNS hostname resolution cache.
- Information about free space on the storage device has been added to the status bar.
- Added the ability to transfer torrent comments to external programs.
- The buttons for adding a torrent file and a torrent link have been swapped in the toolbar.

- Added option to copy paths to the contents of selected torrents.

- Added a separate extended filter for tracker status.
- Restrictions on subcategories have been removed. Support for setting individual torrent upload limits per subcategory has been added. Deleting a category now moves torrents from it to the parent category.
- Torrent block calculation is now performed in asynchronous mode.
- Reduced the time it takes to resume a paused download.
- Added the ability to customize the refresh time for selected RSS feeds. An option for filtering RSS feeds by mask has been implemented.
- The search engine now supports SOCKS4/SOCKS4a proxy support. Search output filtering options have been expanded.
- In the Windows version, the torrent creation interface now allows the use of symbolic links.
- In the Linux version, there is no option to limit RAM consumption.
- The web interface now features functionality for creating new torrents, filtering trackers by status, adding and removing trackers for individual torrents, horizontal tab scrolling, and API key authentication. A new interface for adding torrents has been introduced. GIF icons have been replaced with SVG vector images.
- Support for building with Qt 6.5 has been discontinued.
