pkgsrc 2020Q1 package repository release

NetBSD Project Developers presented package repository release pkgsrc-2020Q1, which became the 66th release of the project. The pkgsrc system was created 22 years ago based on the FreeBSD ports and is currently used by default to manage a collection of additional applications in NetBSD and Minix, as an additional package distribution tool, pkgsrc is also used by Solaris/illumos and macOS users. In general, Pkgsrc supports 23 platforms, including AIX, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, DragonFlyBSD, HP-UX, Haiku, IRIX, Linux, QNX, and UnixWare.

With the new release of pkgsrc, the number of applications available in the repository has passed the 22500 mark: 335 new packages have been added, 2323 packages have been updated, and 163 packages have been removed. The new release improves support for Haskell and Fortran packages, adding the ability to use SHA256 hashes to identify files (instead of the $NetBSD$ CVS identifier). Many obsolete packages for GNOME2 have been discontinued, as well as older releases of Go 1.11/1.12,
MySQL 5.1, Ruby 2.2 and Ruby on Rails 4.2.
