Simply Linux 10.1 release for RISC-V

The release of the experimental assembly of the Simply Linux 10.1 distribution kit (p10 Aronia branch) for the riscv64 architecture has been published. The distribution is an easy-to-use system with a classic desktop based on Xfce, providing full localization of the interface and most applications. The assembly was prepared on the basis of the Sisyphus riscv64 repository and tested in QEMU, on the VisionFive v1 board and on the SiFive boards. The developing distribution company Basalt SPO is a member of the international RISC-V community and is working to support VisionFive v2 and other RISC-V64 boards.

Innovations:

  • The distribution includes Firefox 109.0.1 web browser, Thunderbird 102.7.1 mail client, LibreOffice 7.4.2 office suite.

  • A utility for viewing processes in the htop 3.2.2 console is included.

  • Added graphical interface for working with xsane 0.999 scanners.
  • Improved support for Epson and HP printers.
