Published package release NOTE Studio 26.0 for streaming, streaming, compositing and video recording. The code is written in C/C++ and spreads licensed under GPLv2. Assemblies formed for Linux, Windows and macOS.
The development goal of OBS Studio is to create a free analogue of the Open Broadcaster Software application that is not tied to the Windows platform, supports OpenGL and is extensible through plugins. The difference is also the use of a modular architecture, which implies the separation of the interface and the core of the program. Supports transcoding of source streams, capturing video during games and streaming to Twitch, Facebook Gaming, YouTube, DailyMotion, Hitbox and other services. To ensure high performance, hardware acceleration mechanisms (eg NVENC and VAAPI) can be used.
Support is provided for compositing with building a scene based on arbitrary video streams, data from web cameras, video capture cards, images, text, the contents of application windows or the entire screen. During the broadcast, switching between several predefined scene options is allowed (for example, to switch views with an emphasis on the screen content and the image from the webcam). The program also provides tools for audio mixing, filtering with VST plugins, volume leveling and noise suppression.
In the new version:
Added virtual camera support, allowing you to use the OBS output as a webcam for other applications on your computer. Camera simulation is currently only available for the Windows platform, and will be added to other operating systems in one of the next releases.
A new Source panel (View Menu -> Source Toolbar) has been proposed with a selection of tools for managing the selected source of (audio and video capture devices, media files, VLC player, images, windows, text, etc.).
Added playback control buttons that work when you select media source, VLC or slideshow.
A new noise suppression method has been implemented that uses the RNNoise machine learning system to eliminate extraneous sounds. The new method is much more efficient than the previously proposed mechanism based on Speex.
Added the ability to use hotkeys to take screenshots of preview screens, sources and scenes.
