The release of Memtest86+ 7.0 RAM testing program is available. The program is not tied to operating systems and can be run directly from the BIOS / UEFI firmware or from the bootloader to conduct a full test of RAM. If problems are found, the map of bad memory areas built in Memtest86+ can be used in the Linux kernel to exclude problem areas using the memmap option. The project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
Main innovations:
- Added support for continuous polling of IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) controllers to display current RAM settings on systems with Intel Core CPUs (1st to 14th generation) and AMD Ryzen.
- Added initial support for error correction code (ECC) polling on systems with AMD Ryzen CPUs.
- Added support for MMIO UART.
- New debugging options have been implemented.
- Minor optimizations have been made.
