Solaris 11.4 SRU12 release

Submitted by operating system update Solaris 11.4 SRU 12, which proposed a series of regular fixes and improvements for the branch Solaris 11.4. To install the fixes proposed in the update, just run the 'pkg update' command.

In the new release:

  • The GCC compiler set has been updated to version 9.1;
  • A new branch of Python 3.7 (3.7.3) is included. Previously shipped Python 3.5. Added new Python modules atomicwrites, attrs, hypothesis, pathlib2, pluggy and scandir;
  • The database of PCI and USB device identifiers has been updated;
  • New libraries added XMLSec (implementation of encryption and digital signatures for LibXML2) and Lasso (implementation of the Free Liberty Alliance standard based on XMLSec);
  • Added module for Apache http server mod_auth_mellon for authentication based on SAML 2.0;
  • Added support for SSD BearCove Plus and HDD LEO-B 14TB drives;

  • New options have been added to the ps utility: β€œ-W” to limit the line size to the width of the screen and β€œ-o” to select services (β€œps -e -o pid,user,fmri”);
  • Added options β€œ-x” to pstat to display SMF services associated with processes and β€œ-Z” to separately display information about processes and zones;
  • Added "-N" option to truss to print only system calls that return an error code;
  • Improved libc compatibility with Linux. New features implemented
    madvise() with MADV_DONTDUMP, explicit_bzero(), explicit_memset(),
    reallocf() and qsort_r().
