Release of Tor Browser 10.0.17 and Tails 4.19 distribution

Tails 4.19 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), a specialized distribution kit, based on the Debian package base and designed to provide anonymous access to the network, has been released. Anonymous exit to Tails is provided by the Tor system. All connections, except traffic through the Tor network, are blocked by default by the packet filter. Encryption is used to store user data in the save user data between runs mode. An iso image has been prepared for download, capable of working in Live mode, with a size of 1 GB.

The new release no longer binds the TLS certificate to the Tails site when performing automatic updates (due to such a binding, the delivery of automatic updates has already been disrupted twice, the remaining update integrity check using the OpenPGP key is quite enough). Updated versions of Tor Browser 10.0.17 and Thunderbird 78.10.0. Added a visual indication of entering the administrator password in sudo (for example, "[sudo] password for user: ********").

At the same time, a new version of Tor Browser 10.0.17 was released, focused on anonymity, security and privacy. The release is synchronized with the Firefox 78.11.0 ESR codebase, which fixes 6 vulnerabilities. Updated NoScript 11.2.8, HTTPS Everywhere 2021.4.15 and Tor 0.4.5.8. The release of Tor Browser for Android is delayed until next week.
