rclone 1.59 backup utility released

The release of the rclone 1.59 utility has been published, which is an analogue of rsync, designed to copy and synchronize data between the local system and various cloud storages, such as Google Drive, Amazon Drive, S3, Dropbox, Backblaze B2, One Drive, Swift, Hubic, Cloudfiles, Google Cloud Storage, Mail.ru Cloud and Yandex.Disk. The project code is written in Go and distributed under the MIT license.

In the new release:

  • Added backends for storing backups in Combine, Hidrive, Internet Archive, ArvanCloud AOS, Cloudflare R2, Huawei OBS and IDrive e2 storages.
  • Added "rclone test makefile" command to create files for build testing.
  • Added toolkit to save extended metadata specific to different storage backends when copying files. Metadata extraction is currently implemented only for local, s3 and internetarchive backends.
  • Multiple "--exclude-if-present" flags are allowed in filters.
  • Added "--no-traverse" and "--no-unicode-normalization" options to the check command.
  • The minimum version of the Go compiler required for building has been increased to 1.16.
