psi-notify 1.0.0 resource shortage notifier released

Published program release psi-notify 1.0, which can alert you when there is contention for resources (CPU, memory, I/O) in the system in order to take action before the system slows down. Code open under the MIT license.

The application runs at the unprivileged user level and uses the kernel subsystem to assess system-wide resource shortages PSI (Pressure Stall Information), which allows you to analyze information about the waiting time for obtaining various resources (CPU, memory, I/O) for certain tasks or sets of processes in a cgroup.

Unlike MemAvailable, CPU graphs, I/O usage graphs and other metrics, Psi-notify makes it possible to identify malfunctioning applications on your computer before they begin to seriously affect performance. Requires PSI kernel support (Linux) 4.20+ with CONFIG_PSI=y setting). To send notifications to the desktop when there is a lack of resources, use libnotify.
