Shotcut 20.06 Video Editor Release

Published video editor release Shotcut 20.06, which is developed by the author of the project MLT and uses this framework to organize video editing. Support for video and audio formats is implemented through FFmpeg. It is possible to use plug-ins with the implementation of video and audio effects compatible with Frei0r ΠΈ LADSPA. From features Shotcut can be noted the possibility of multi-track editing with the composition of video fragments in various source formats, without the need to import or re-encode them. There are built-in tools for creating screencasts, processing images from a webcam and receiving streaming video. Qt5 is used to build the interface. Code is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv3 license.

  • Added slideshow generator (Playlist > menu > Add Selected to Slideshow).

  • For videos and images implemented proxy editing mode (Settings > Proxy), which allows you to create and use videos and images in low resolution instead of the original versions of files (auto-convert when editing). The user can perform edits based on low resolution images with minimal system load, and when the result is ready to export the work at normal resolution.

  • Added a set of filters for spatial video in 360-degree mode: Equirectangular Mask, Equirectangular to Rectilinear, Hemispherical to Equirectangular, Rectilinear to Equirectangular, Stabilize, Transform.
  • Added Blip Flash generator (Open Other > Blip Flash).
  • Added export presets: Slide Deck (H.264) and Slide Deck (HEVC).
  • An option has been added to the Rotate, Scale, and Position filters to define the background color.
  • Added the ability to move files from an external file manager to the timeline in drag&drop mode.
  • Added an option to the clip context menu to merge with the next clip.
  • Added a setting to calibrate playback timing (Settings > Synchronization).
  • A button for adding a keyframe has been added to the Keyframes panel for all parameters (previously this button was shown selectively).
  • Added Wavelet filter for video noise suppression.
  • To comply with political correctness, "Master" on the timeline has been renamed to Output.
