VirtualBox 6.0.12 release

Oracle has published a corrective release of the virtualization system VirtualBox 6.0.12, in which it is noted 17 fixes.

Main changes in release 6.0.12:

  • Additions for Linux guest systems solved the problem with the inability to create files inside shared directories by an unprivileged user;
  • Improved compatibility in Linux Guest Additions
    vboxvideo.ko with the kernel module build system;

  • Fixed issues with building kernel modules for hosts and guests
    with a core from SLES 12 SP4;

  • In the export function in OCI format, the correct processing of empty disk images is ensured;
  • The AC97 audio driver works around problematic drivers in guests that reprogram the sample rate;
  • Fixed issues with writing and saving state when using the VBoxVGA driver with 3D mode enabled;
  • Fixed a crash on startup on Windows host systems when there are programs trying to substitute code into the virtual machine process;
  • Improved detection of USB devices with power saving mode on Windows host systems;
  • Fixed issues with the visibility of updating the mouse cursor in Windows guests;
  • Fixed graphics corruption in the Windows 10 search menu when using the VBoxVGA driver.
  • Fixed a dwm.exe crash related to using the WDDM driver for the VBoxSVGA virtual adapter when allocating a large amount of memory to the guest system;
  • Fixed a crash in Windows guests when using shared directories;
  • Fixed crash issues when launching add-ons for macOS guests.
