VirtualBox 6.1.30 release

Oracle has published a corrective release of the virtualization system VirtualBox 6.1.30, which notes 18 fixes. Main changes:

  • Initial support for Linux kernel 5.16 has been added for Linux guests and hosts.
  • Corrections have been made to distribution-specific deb and rpm packages with components for Linux hosts to solve problems with automatic installation of operating systems in guest environments.
  • The Linux Guest Additions only allow one instance of VBoxDRMClient to run.
  • The shared clipboard implementation improves communication between the host and guest in situations where the guest does not communicate the presence of data on the clipboard.
  • In the virtual machine manager, a regressive change that appeared since version 6.1.28 that did not allow virtual machines to start when using Hyper-V mode in Windows 10 has been fixed.
  • In the GUI, an issue with the inability to complete the Initial Configuration Wizard after attempting to select an external image has been resolved. Problems with selecting settings on systems without hardware virtualization support have been resolved. Fixed an issue with saving screenshots in Windows. In the storage settings, the use of the drag&drop interface with a single mouse click on systems with an X11 server has been adjusted.
  • Fixed a crash when parsing the /etc/vbox/networks.conf file.
  • Fixed a bug in the DVD drive lock mode processing code.
