Main changes in release 6.1.4:
- Additions for Linux-based guest systems provide support for the Linux5.5 kernel and solve the problem with access through shared directories (Shared folder) to disk images mounted via a loopback device;
- Fixed a regression introduced in the 6.1 branch that caused problems using the ICEBP instruction on hosts with Intel CPUs;
- Fixed problem with booting guest systems with macOS Catalina after installing update 10.15.2;
- Improved GUI localization;
- For USB, isochronous data transfer to the virtual machine has been established when using xHCI USB controllers;
- Fixed problems with handling the serial port buffer, which led to the suspension of data reception when the queue was flushed;
- Improved support for forwarding a serial port to a virtual machine on Windows hosts;
- VBoxManage resumed support for the "--clipboard" option in the command
modifyvm; - On macOS hosts, a more secure runtime is enabled and osxfuse has been updated (3.10.4);
- On Windows hosts, the compatibility of shared directories with POSIX-defined file append (O_APPEND) semantics has been improved. Restored the ability to run a VM through Hyper-V;
- The BIOS implementation provides a readiness mark for non-ATA disks and adds EFI support to the DMI table. The VGA BIOS has reduced the stack size used in INT 10h handlers.
