VirtualBox 7.0.14 release

Oracle has published a corrective release of the VirtualBox 7.0.14 virtualization system, which contains 14 fixes. At the same time, an update of the previous branch of VirtualBox 6.1.50 was created with 7 changes, including support for packages with the kernel from the RHEL 9.4 and 8.9 distributions, as well as the ability to import and export images of virtual machines with NVMe drive controllers and media inserted into the virtual CD drive/ DVD.

Major changes in VirtualBox 7.0.14:

  • Improved 3D support.
  • Added support for importing and exporting virtual machine images in OVF format containing NVMe drive controllers.
  • Added support for exporting virtual machine images in OVF format containing media inserted into a virtual CD/DVD drive bound to a Virtio-SCSI controller.
  • Additions for Linux hosts and guests have added support for the kernel packages shipped with RHEL 9.4.
  • In additions for Linux guest systems, a problem with a crash due to a glitch in vboxvideo on systems with the RHEL 8.9 kernel has been resolved.
  • Solaris Guest Additions now provide the ability to install addons to an alternate root directory ('pkgadd -R').
  • Uninstalling Solaris Guest Additions no longer requires a virtual machine restart.
  • Correct display of units of measurement in memory consumption data set in the VirtualSystemDescription parameter has been adjusted.
  • On Windows hosts, problems with switching audio devices when using the WAS audio backend have been resolved.
  • In Windows guests, we have resolved an issue where touch screen events are lost when the user presses for a long time without moving a finger.
  • On macOS hosts, added support for new storage devices and fixed a memory leak in the VBoxIntNetSwitch process when the virtual machine is configured to use the internal network.
