VirtualBox 7.2.10 release

Oracle has released a corrective release of the VirtualBox 7.2.10 virtualization system, which introduces 14 changes:

  • In additions for guest systems and host environments with Linux Added initial kernel support Linux 7.1 includes additional fixes for the RHEL 9.8 distribution, and fixes a crash when building kernel modules on openSUSE 16.0. Support for building source code using the NASM assembler instead of YASM has been added.
  • In additions for host environments with Linux Fixed an issue that prevented virtual machines from starting due to kernel crashes.
  • In additions for guest systems with Linux Initial support for the Extended Data Control protocol for clipboard access in KDE Plasma guests using Waland has been added. Building the vboxvideo module has been improved for kernels 7.0 and 7.1.
  • Fixed crash when loading virtual machines CentOS 10 with a message about the lack of support for the x86-64-v3 subarchitecture in the CPU.
  • Resolved issues with loading virtual machines on ARM systems that are assigned less than 1024 MiB of RAM.
  • Fixed an issue where the VIRTIO-SCSI device was not recognized as an SSD in the guest system.
  • Fixed issues in the E1000 network adapter emulation code that prevented OS/2 from loading in the guest system.
  • The OS/2 Guest Additions fixes issues with automatic mounting of shared directories and clipboard functionality.
