Lanemu P2P VPN 0.12 has been released. It is a decentralized peer-to-peer virtual private network (VPN), where participants are connected directly to each other rather than through a central server. Network participants can find each other through BitTorrent trackers or BitTorrent DHT, or through other network participants (peer exchange). The application is a free and open-source alternative to the Hamachi VPN, written in Java (with some C components), and distributed under the GNU LGPL 3.0 license. It supports running in Windows, GNU/Linux and FreeBSD.
Changes in version 0.12:
- The AES-128-GCM algorithm is used for peer-to-peer encryption. Due to the change in the encryption algorithm, the new version of the application will not be able to interact with previous versions. No changes to invitations are required.
- Added the ability to obtain IPv6 addresses from BitTorrent trackers.
- Bouncy castle has been updated to version jdk18on-1.79.
- Partially fixed the problem with loading the 32-bit libTunTap libraryWindows.etc.
- Improved algorithm for searching for a network device Windows.
- Added manual deletion option IP addresses from the list of known IP addresses shown when you right-click on an entry.
- The internal behavior of the system tray module has been reworked for Linux and FreeBSD.
- Added OpenJDK loader, which downloads the OpenJDK archive and installs it in the "jdk" directory next to the program executable file.
- The calendar now uses the system language when creating an invitation, which affects the order of the days of the week.
- Updated default network settings applied when BitTorrent tracker is not working.
