Wine 4.6 release

An experimental release of an open implementation of the Win32 API, Wine 4.6, is available. Since the release of version 4.5, 50 bug reports have been closed and 384 changes have been made.

The most important changes:

  • Added initial implementation of the backend to WineD3D based on the Vulkan graphics API;
  • Added ability to load Mono libraries from shared directories;
  • Libwine.dll is no longer required when using the Wine DLL on Windows;
  • Regression tests compiled in PE executable format;
  • A button with a drop-down list of actions (SplitButton) has been added to the implementation of the Common Controls library;
  • Added support for complex structures to typelib;
  • The video capture system has been switched to use the second version of Video4Linux;
  • Introduced the initial version of the debug engine (Debug Engine DLL);
