Wine 7.20 release and Wine staging 7.20

An experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI - Wine 7.20 has taken place. Since the release of version 7.19, 29 bug reports have been closed and 302 changes have been made.

The most important changes:

  • The Wine Mono engine with .NET platform implementation has been updated to release 7.4.
  • Added a mechanism for linking fonts, which allows you to link one or more fonts to another font. Linking defaults to the base font, but the missing elements are taken from the linked fonts. Binding is provided for MS UI Gothi, Tahoma, Microsoft JhengHei, MingLiU, MS Gothic, Yu Gothic UI, Meiryo and MS Mincho system fonts.
  • Corrections have been made to the system of unwinding exceptions.
  • Added support for creating dumps for EMF files in WineDump.
  • Let's encrypt certificate validation issues have been resolved in the crypt32 API.
  • Crysis 2, Tequila City of Heroes Launcher, Autonauts, Axiom Verge 2, Visual Novel Shin Koihime † Eiyuutan 4, Obduction bug reports have been closed.
  • Closed bug reports related to the work of applications: Visual C++ 2013, DC++ 0.868, ZOSI Cloud, MetaTrader4.

Additionally, we can mention the formation of the release of the Wine Staging 7.20 project, within which extended Wine builds are formed, including incomplete or risky patches that are not yet suitable for acceptance into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 515 additional patches. The new release is synchronized with the Wine 7.20 codebase. Updated patches with support for mfplat-streaming and nvcuda CUDA.
