An experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI - Wine 7.9. Since the release of version 7.8, 35 bug reports have been closed and 323 changes have been made.
The most important changes:
- Started translating the macOS driver to use the PE (Portable Executable) executable file format instead of ELF.
- Work has been done to eliminate failures when running tests ("make test") on the Windows platform.
- Closed bug reports related to the operation of games: Lego Rock Raiders, Stellaris.
- Closed bug reports related to applications: Editpad Lite 7, Ulead Photo Explorer 8.5, Cxbx Reloaded, Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 15, VTFEdit.
Additionally, we can note the release of the GE-Proton7-18 project, in which enthusiasts form extended builds of the package independent of Valve for running Proton Windows applications, which differ in a more recent version of Wine, the use of FFmpeg in FAudio and the inclusion of additional patches that solve problems in various gaming applications. In the new version of Proton GE, the transition to the Wine 7.8 codebase has been made, the dxvk and vkd3d components have been updated, and problems with launching the FFXIV Launcher have been resolved.
