Release of zeronet-conservancy 0.7.7, platform for decentralized sites

The release of the zeronet-conservancy project is available, which continues the development of the decentralized, censorship-resistant ZeroNet network, which uses Bitcoin addressing and verification mechanisms in combination with BitTorrent distributed delivery technologies to create sites. Site content is stored in the P2P network on visitors' machines and verified against the owner's digital signature. The fork was created after the disappearance of the original ZeroNet developer and aims to maintain and increase the security of the existing infrastructure, user moderation and a smooth transition to a new, secure and fast network.

After the last news (0.7.5), two versions were released:

  • 0.7.6
    • The new changes are licensed under GPLv3+.
    • More trackers with Syncronite.
    • More advanced donation system for websites.
    • Quick to deploy script for Android/Termux.
    • README translation into Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.
    • Reducing the possibilities of identification (fingerprinting) of the user.
    • New docker files.
    • Improvements in user interface and sidebar buttons.
  • 0.7.7
    • Port forwarding via UPnP using a secure xml library (previously, port forwarding was disabled due to security reasons).
    • Fix support for XMR donations.
    • The README mentions additional deb dependencies.
    • Move pyaes to an external dependency.
    • Reducing the possibilities of identifying (fingerprinting) the site owner (including using ideas / code from an abandoned zeronet-enhanced fork).
    • An optional indication of the reason for the restriction (mute) of the user.

0.7.7 is the latest planned release in the 0.7 branch, the main work being done on new (partially breaking) features for the upcoming 0.8 branch.
