The release of the minimalistic audio player Qmmp 1.6.0 has been published, as well as the version of Qmmp 2.1, which continues the development of the branch that switched to Qt 6. At the same time, collections of plug-ins that are not included in the main part of the -Qmmp Plugin Pack 1.6.0 and 2.1.0 have been formed. The project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
The program is equipped with an interface based on the Qt library, similar to Winamp or XMMS, and supports the connection of covers from these players. Qmmp is independent of Gstreamer and offers support for various audio output systems to get the best sound. Including output via OSS4 (FreeBSD), ALSA (Linux), Pulse Audio, JACK, QtMultimedia, Icecast, WaveOut (Win32), DirectSound (Win32) and WASAPI (Win32) is supported.
Main innovations:
- Added extraction of lyrics from tags (id3v2 tags and Xiph Comment);

- Fixed conflict between versions 1.x and 2.x;
- Updated translations, including for Ukrainian and Russian.
- The Qmmp Plugin Pack plugins have migrated to the qmmp 1.6/2.1 API, added the modplug module, and removed the xmp module.
