Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies, blacklisted by the US government and under immense pressure, said its revenue rose 24,4% in the first three quarters of 2019 to 610,8 billion yuan (roughly $86 billion) compared to the same period of 2018.
During this period, more than 185 million smartphones were shipped, which is also a 26% increase compared to the same period last year. And although these achievements are very impressive, not everything is so simple: the fact is that the company decided not to make a report for only the third quarter of this year, the results of which may be less rosy.
The company said in August that while the impact of U.S. trade restrictions would be less than originally thought, they could cut its smartphone division's revenue by an impressive $10 billion this year.
Recall that currently Huawei is the world's largest manufacturer of equipment for telecommunications networks and the second largest manufacturer of smartphones. The company reported in June a 23,2% increase in its revenues based on the results of operations in the first half of the year.
