Calculate Linux 23 released

The new version includes a server edition of Calculate Container Manager for working with LXC, a new cl-lxc utility has been added, and support for selecting an update repository has been added.

The following distribution editions are available for download: Calculate Linux Desktop with KDE desktop (CLD), Cinnamon (CLDC), LXQt (CLDL), Mate (CLDM) and Xfce (CLDX and CLDXS), Calculate Container Manager (CCM), Calculate Directory Server (CDS), Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS), and Calculate Scratch Server (CSS).

Major changes

  • Updated user environments: KDE Plasma 5.25.5, Xfce 4.18, MATE 1.26, Cinnamon 5.6.5, LXQt 1.2.
  • New Calculate Container Manager server distribution for running LXC containers.
  • New cl-lxc utility for creating and updating containers, taking into account the specifics of Calculate Linux.
  • The cl-update update utility now supports binary package mirror selection.
  • Added a Git repository availability check with the ability to switch between GitHub and Calculate Git.
  • Portage path changed to /var/db/repos/gentoo.
  • The installer has added a check for the complexity of the entered passwords.
  • The nano editor has been replaced with vi, from the busybox package.
  • Improved Nvidia proprietary driver detection.
