Darktable 3.2 released

Darktable 3.2 released

New version released darktable - a free application for culling and streaming photo processing.

Main changes:

  • Rewritten photo view mode: improved interface, faster rendering, added the ability to choose what is shown on the thumbnails of pictures, the ability to manually add CSS rules for the selected theme, added scaling settings (tested on monitors up to 8K).
  • The program settings dialog has been reorganized.
  • Two new fields have been added to the metadata editor - "notes" and "version name".
  • Added seven new filters for selecting pictures in collections.
  • The new negadoctor module, sharpened for processing scans of color negatives and based on the Kodak Cineon sensitometric system.
  • Improved filmic module (film tone curve), with the ability to recover data from lights in wavelets and other improvements.
  • A new "module order" module that allows you to check whether processing modules are applied in the old or new (since version 3.0) order.
  • New RGB Parade analysis tool, the ability to change the height of the histogram.
  • AVIF support.

By tradition, a new large-scale update is released to the project once a year on Christmas Eve. However, this year, due to quarantine, the project participants wrote so much code in their free time that the team decided to make an interim release. Version 3.4 is still expected in December.
