Radeon 19.3.2 driver released with support for new games, Vulkan and DX12 extensions under Windows 7

To launch new major gaming projects, video card manufacturers are trying to prepare fresh graphics drivers as well. AMD recently unveiled Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.3.2, which brings support for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 co-op action RPG, as well as the Gathering Storm add-on to Sid Meier's Civilization VI strategy game. In addition, AMD is promising an overall performance boost of up to 4% over the latest February Radeon Software 19.2.3 graphics driver.

Separately, AMD mentioned support for DirectX 12 under Windows 7 in some games. As a reminder, Microsoft recently announced out of the blue that some games, including World of Warcraft, will benefit from the low-level and multi-threaded API even on PCs running Windows 7.

Radeon Software 19.3.2 also adds support for a number of Vulkan open low-level API extensions: VK_EXT_depth_clip_enable, VK_EXT_memory_priority, VK_EXT_memory_budget, VK_KHR_vulkan_memory_model, VK_EXT_debug_utils, VK_KHR_depth_stencil_resolve, VK_KHR_shader_float16_ int8, VK_EXT_transform_feedback.

As always, AMD engineers have made several ongoing fixes:

  • Radeon ReLive for VR was not installed;
  • the fan schedule did not switch to manual mode;
  • Changes to Radeon WattMan settings through Radeon Overlay were not saved or took effect after closing Radeon Overlay.

Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.3.2 can be downloaded for 64-bit Windows 7 or Windows 10 from both the official AMD website and the Radeon Settings menu. It is dated March 14 and is intended for graphics cards of the Radeon HD 7000 family and above.
