On July 5, Sendmail 8.16.1 was announced in the comp.mail.sendmail group. The source code for the program can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.sendmail.org/pub/sendmail/.
Major changes:
- added support for OpenSSL 1.1.0 and 1.1.1, removed support for OpenSSL 0.9.8;
- added initial support for DANE (RFC 7672);
- added null MX support (RFC 7505);
- improved informativeness of messages in syslog in some cases;
- several fixes in LIBMILTER;
- cidrexpand from contrib now understands IPv6.
