Electronic circuit simulator Qucs-S 24.2.0 released

Electronic circuit simulator Qucs-S 24.2.0 released

Qucs-S is an electronic circuit simulator that uses the open source Ngspice as its engine. On March 25 of this year, the next release of the program was released.

The main innovations of release 24.2.0:

  • QucsatorRF is now included in Qucs-S, including the DEB/RPM binary packages. You no longer need to compile and install Qucsator manually. QucsatorRF is a specialized simulation engine for RF circuits containing microstrip lines and the like. It can be used in addition to Ngspice. Using Qucsator to model general-purpose circuits is possible, but not recommended.

  • For QucsatorRF, the transformation of S-parameter matrices has been corrected and improved models of some microstrip elements have been added. More details here: https://github.com/ra3xdh/qucsator_rf/releases/tag/v1.0.0

  • Added interface for Qucs-RFLayout. This is a utility that generates a microstrip line topology based on a circuit diagram. This utility must be installed separately: https://github.com/thomaslepoix/Qucs-RFlayout

  • The graphical interface for the Qucsconv file format converter has been redesigned.

  • An improved tool for synthesizing matching circuits has been backported from the unreleased Qucs-0.0.20.

  • Added some passive microwave components for compatibility with the latest version of Qucsator.
