Electronic circuit simulator Qucs-S 24.3.0 released

Electronic circuit simulator Qucs-S 24.3.0 released

Qucs-S is a software tool for simulating electronic circuits, using open source Ngspice as an engine for general-purpose circuits, or QucsatorRF for analyzing microwave devices. On July 23 of this year, the next release of the program took place.

The main innovations of release 24.3.0:

  • The assembly of binary packages for all platforms has been transferred to Qt6
  • The procedure for importing third-party SPICE models of subcircuits has been simplified, for which a special component has been redesigned SPICE Library Device (see screenshot) and added a dialog for specifying the UGO symbol and assigning pins. Added UGO symbol templates. Previously, this procedure required creating a subcircuit.
  • Import of SPICE models for discrete components has been simplified. Now you can import the model directly from the component properties dialog using the button Fill from SPICE model.
  • The schematic and diagram rendering engine has been refactored to improve rendering on HiDPI monitors.
  • Updated tools for synthesis of attenuators and passive filters
  • New component libraries have been added: PWM controllers, mixer ICs, germanium diodes.
  • The QucsatorRF engine has been updated to version 1.0.1, the changes mainly concern the file format converter

A complete list of improvements and bug fixes can be found on the release page.
