Cinelerra-gg is a multi-track video editor and composer for Linux (a port for Free/NetBSD is also in development).
Features include:
- non-attachment to python/qt/gtk during operation (python3 is required when building);
- relatively fast engine;
- the ability to work with data in 32 bit format per channel with floating point (but now samples with a value greater than 1.0f are being cut; the author may have corrected this, but more tests are needed, including comparative ones with proprietary ones (DaVinchi Resolve ) and open (Olive editor) projects).
Main innovations:
- transition to ffmpeg 6.1;
- assembly farm from einhander.
In the screenshot, cinelerra is running on virtual NetBSD 9.2 (at that time), i486, and the result is viewed from an Android tablet via a VNC client.
