On September 18, 2019, the live distribution Clonezilla live 2.6.3-7 was released, with the primary goal of enabling quick and easy cloning of disk partitions and entire disks.
This distribution, based on Debian GNU/Linux, allows you to perform the following tasks:
- Creating backups by saving data to a file
- Cloning a disk to another disk
- It allows for cloning or creating a backup of either an entire disk or a single partition
- Network cloning capabilities are available, enabling the simultaneous cloning of a disk to multiple machines
Key features of the release:
- The package base has been aligned with Debian Sid as of September 3, 2019
- The kernel has been updated to version 5.2.9-2
- Partclone has been updated to version 0.3.13
- The zfs-fuse module has been removed, but there is an option to use openzfs in alternative builds based on Ubuntu
- The method for generating a unique client machine identifier for GNU/Linux recovery has been updated
