Π beginning of the year Pine64 company announced the delivery of the first batch of the free secure smartphone PinePhone. It combines free hardware and software, no telemetry and full access to all possible documentation. The inexpensive smartphone initially supported several mobile versions of Linux, and support for other versions was announced at a later date.
Today was announced KDE Plasma Mobile support.
Key features:
- Calls and SMS.
- High quality telephony and voice calls.
- Convergence support. Works like a regular PC when connecting a monitor.
- Smooth interface animations. The screen refresh rate is 60 Hz.
- Availability of basic applications for daily tasks.

- KClock, KWeather, Alligator, Calindori, QMLKonsole, Qrca and Dialer applications have been updated.

Cost of the PinePhone smartphone:
- $149 for the 2GB RAM + 16GB eMMC version.
- $199 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB eMMC + USB-C adapter version.
