Wargaming has announced an amnesty for previously banned World of Tanks players in honor of the tenth anniversary of the online action game. In honor of the holiday, the developer wants to give users a second chance in the hope of a fix.
Starting August 3rd, Wargaming will begin a massive unblocking of user accounts that were banned between March 25th, 2020 2:59 UTC. However, not everyone will be forgiven: players who have received a ban for violations of the law, fraud, spam, the use of bots and the use of prohibited modifications may not hope for mercy.
βWe hope that stumbled players will be able to learn the right lesson from the past and, after unlocking, will no longer interfere with conscientious commanders,β said Anton Pankov, Product Director of World of Tanks. βBut if convicted of repeated violations, they will again be subject to a permanent ban, with no way to get out of the ban in the future.β
So, a second chance can be given to users who were blocked for participating in fixed battles, selling an account, destroying allies, creating violating
βThe principle of fair play has been and remains one of our top priorities,β said Anton Pankov. Together with you, we have spent a huge amount of time and effort to create a level playing field for everyone and ensure the spirit of fair competition. We do not want to affect the results of the work done, so the list of violations that fall under the unlock did not include the use of prohibited mods. Here our position is unchanged: their use is unsportsmanlike and dishonest. That is why players caught using such modifications will remain banned.β
