In the corresponding announcement on the official WB Games website a representative of the publishing house explained that what happened was the result of some "changes" in the network structure of the company.

WB Games also assured that turning off the servers will not affect the operation of modes that do not require access to the Internet. In particular, we are talking about the story campaign of the fighting game.

At the same time, changes to WB Games' online services will result in Mortal Kombat's "Message of the Day" feature being removed, not only on PS3, but also on PC and Xbox 360.

Last weekend, users noticed that the complete edition of Mortal Kombat (2011) was missing from Steam. It is also not possible to purchase the game on the Xbox 360, while this option is still available in the PlayStation Store (PS3, PS Vita).

Why Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment took up arms against their own offspring, it is not clear. The fans suggestthat it could be a license issue for Freddy Krueger, who is one of the guest fighters in the game.

Mortal Kombat was released in 2011 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. In 2012, the console release of the complete edition (Komplete Edition) took place, which, among other things, includes the notorious antagonist from the A Nightmare on Elm Street films.
