wayward - a custom wrapper based on the Weston composite server

A new release of the custom shell Wayward 0.8.3 is available, based on the use of the Weston composite server and the Wayland protocol. The shell is notable for its low memory consumption (50-70 MB of RAM), high speed and the use of only four dependencies (weston/wayland, ttf-droid/adwaita-icon-theme, gtk3 and sudo).

A bottom panel is provided that supports auto-hide and includes an application menu, application shortcuts, task icons, a clock, widgets such as volume control, a restart button, a shutdown button, and prevent the monitor from sleeping while watching a video. The new release adds initial support for multi-monitor configurations and introduces a battery health indicator.
