Western Digital has announced new external drives for personal computers and game consoles at gamescom 2019 in Cologne (Germany).

Perhaps the most curious device was the WD_Black P50 solid state solution. It is claimed to be the industry's first SSD to feature a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface that delivers up to 20Gbps throughput. The novelty is available in modifications with a capacity of up to 2 TB. The data transfer rate reaches 1980 MB/s.

In addition, the WD_Black P10 portable hard drive debuted. This product uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gb/s) interface, and the capacity can be 2TB, 4TB and 5TB. Dimensions - 118 Γ— 88 Γ— 12,8 / 20,8 mm.

Modification WD_Black P10 for Xbox One has similar characteristics, but will be available in versions of 1TB, 3TB and 5TB. Pricing includes two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with access to over 100 Xbox One and PC games, and an Xbox Gold Live subscription.

The WD_Black D10 hard drive with USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface is also presented. This device is designed to store 8 TB of information. The declared data transfer rate is up to 250 MB/s. The dimensions are 195 Γ— 125 Γ— 44 mm. The Xbox One version of WD_Black D10 is capable of storing 12TB of data.
