Windows 10 will "grow fat" to at least 32 GB

Microsoft announced at one time that it would use about 7 GB of space on the user's hard drive to store update files. The benefit of this approach is that it will ensure that you don't run out of space in the middle of an update. The disadvantage is banal - there is simply not enough space on inexpensive tablets and laptops.

Whereas previously the minimum storage requirement in Windows 10 was 16 GB for a 32-bit installation, the additional 7 GB almost completely took up the entire drive. But now the situation will change even stronger.

The company changed the hardware requirements. According to them, now the minimum amount of space for the OS is 32 GB for 32 and 64-bit versions. Thus, this is enough to install updates on low-cost devices. This also encourages hardware developers to increase the amount of internal memory on cheap devices.

Recall that earlier Microsoft updated See the processor requirements page for the Windows 10 May 2019 Update. At the same time, it is noted that there are no AMD Ryzen 3000 and Snapdragon 8cx processors in the list, although all other models, both x86-64 and ARM, are present. It is possible that this is just a typo or incomplete data, which will then be corrected.

We also recall that the pre-release version of Windows 10 May 2019 Update is forcibly blocks update if the PC where it is installed has external hard drives or SD memory cards. As it turned out, the reason is the incorrect remapping of disks.
