The Wine development team is proud to announce the availability of a new stable release of Wine 6.0.
This release represents a year of active development and contains over 8300 changes.
Significant changes:
- Kernel modules in PE format.
- Vulkan backend for WineD3D.
- Support for DirectShow and Media Foundation.
- Redesign of the text console.
This release is dedicated to the memory of Ken Thomases, who passed away just before Christmas. He was only 51 years old. Ken was the incredibly talented developer and inspiration behind Wine's macOS support. We all miss his skill, his patience and his dark sense of humor.
