You can already begin to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of one of the most popular strategy games: Microsoft has released an anniversary version of Age of Empires II with the subtitle Definitive Edition. The project includes redesigned graphics with 4K Ultra HD support, updated sound and a new addition - “The Last Khans”, including 3 campaigns and 4 new civilizations.
For the launch of the updated game, the developers of Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media, Wicked Witch and the publisher Xbox Game Studios presented a fresh trailer. It focuses on nostalgia: it shows owners of old PCs with CRT monitors who are animatedly fighting in an online game, and mentions the return of a legend born 20 years ago.
Players can expect new quality across all original campaigns and expansions, which together span over 200 hours of gameplay and span 1000 years of human development. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition supports online battles with other players for world domination and offers a choice of as many as 35 civilizations across a variety of eras.
