Xiaomi Mi 9T: a €300 smartphone with an edge-to-edge screen and a periscope camera

The Chinese company Xiaomi, as it was promised, introduced today, June 12, the productive smartphone Mi 9T, which will go on sale in the European market on Monday next week.

The device has a completely frameless display, which has neither a cutout nor a hole. A Super AMOLED panel measuring 6,39 inches diagonally with a resolution of 2340 Γ— 1080 pixels (Full HD+ format) is used. A fingerprint scanner is built directly into the screen area.

The front camera is made in the form of a retractable periscope module with a 20-megapixel sensor. There is a triple camera installed at the back, which includes a 48-megapixel main module (Sony IMX582), an additional 13-megapixel unit with ultra-wide-angle optics and a module with an 8-megapixel sensor.

The computing load falls on the Snapdragon 730 processor, which contains eight Kryo 470 cores with a clock speed of up to 2,2 GHz, an Adreno 618 graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X15 LTE cellular modem with download speeds of up to 800 Mbit/s. RAM capacity is 6 GB, flash storage capacity is 64 or 128 GB.

The smartphone receives power from a 4000 mAh battery. An NFC module, a USB Type-C port and a 3,5 mm headphone jack are mentioned. Operating system: Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 add-on.

On the sales launch day, June 17, the version of Xiaomi Mi 9T with a 64 GB drive can be purchased for €300, then the price will increase to €330. The cost of the modification with a 128 GB flash module is €370.
