The 13-megapixel main module is complemented by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (118 °), a 5-megapixel macro module (shooting from 4 cm) and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side is an 8-megapixel camera for self-portraits. Redmi 9 has a textured back surface that prevents fingerprints, as well as a fingerprint scanner on the back cover. The smartphone includes a 5020 mAh battery with support for high-speed 18-watt charging (however, only 10 W charging is included). Unfortunately, the smartphone still uses an eMMC storage rather than UFS.
In general, the technical specifications of Redmi 9 look like this:

- dimensions 163 × 77 × 9,1 mm with a weight of 198 grams;
- Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2,4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC (optional), USB Type-C;
- 5020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Redmi 9 comes in green, purple and gray color options. The cost of the smartphone in the European Union market is €149 and €179, respectively, for versions 3/32 GB and 4/64 GB, but for a limited time the device is available for order at a price of €139 ($158) and €169 ($192).
