The Chinese company Xiaomi, according to XDA-Developers, is developing at least four smartphones with a camera equipped with a 108-megapixel sensor.

We are talking about the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor. This sensor allows you to capture images with a resolution of up to 12032 Γ— 9024 dots. The product is made using Tetracell technology (Quad Bayer).

So, Xiaomi's upcoming 108MP camera smartphones are reported to be codenamed Tucana, Draco, Umi, and Cmi. Some of these devices may debut under the Xiaomi brand, while others under the Redmi brand.

Information about the characteristics of upcoming new products, unfortunately, is not yet available. But it is obvious that all smartphones will be productive devices, and therefore the price will be quite high.

Gartner estimates that 367,9 million smartphones were sold globally in the second quarter of this year. This is 1,7% less compared to the result for the second quarter of 2018. Xiaomi is in fourth position in the ranking of leading manufacturers: in three months, the company shipped 33,2 million smartphones, occupying 9,0% of the market.
