Xiaomi is one of the few electronics manufacturers that has its own semiconductor business.

Xiaomi-owned Songguo Electronics is known for developing the Surge S1 (Pinecone) chip, which is used in the Mi 5C smartphone.
There have been reports on the Web that Xiaomi has restructured its semiconductor business, in which it created another company.
According to a Xiaomi memo, as part of the restructuring, some divisions had to be split up to create a new company called Nanjing Big Fish Semiconductor. A quarter of the authorized capital in it belongs to Xiaomi, and the remaining 75% were received by team members.
It is reported that Nanjing will focus on the research and development of chips and solutions for artificial intelligence and the Internet of things, while Songguo will continue to develop system-on-a-chip for mobile phones and AI chips.
