Xiaomi starts updating Mi A3 to Android 10 again

When Xiaomi released the Mi A1 smartphone, many called it the “budget Pixel”. The Mi A series was launched as part of the Android One program, which meant the presence of a "bare" Android, and promised a quick and regular release of operating system updates. In practice, everything turned out to be completely different. In order to get the update to Android 10, the owners of the relatively fresh Mi A3 were forced to submit a petition to the manufacturer.

Initially, the update was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak in China, however, when Xiaomi did start distributing it, a great many critical bugs were found in the firmware. In some cases, devices even failed after the update. As a result, Xiaomi had to withdraw the firmware. And now the manufacturer has begun distributing the corrected software.

The software update has received build number V11.0.11.0 QFQMIXM and will soon be available to all Mi A3 users. The firmware is distributed in "waves" to avoid problems with overloading the company's servers. The update size is 1,33 GB.

The firmware brings a system-wide dark theme, improved gesture controls, new privacy controls, and more. There have been no reports of critical errors in the new firmware from users yet.
