The Indian representative office of Xiaomi has spread the information that the company is designing a mid-range smartphone on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform.
The report says that a device based on the "Snapdragon 7_ _" processor, which debuted just about two weeks ago, will be presented very soon.
Within the given time frame were two Snapdragon 700-series chips: these are Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 730G products. The processors contain eight Kryo 470 cores clocked at up to 2,2 GHz and a Snapdragon X15 LTE cellular modem with download speeds up to 800 Mbps. The graphics subsystem uses the Adreno 618 controller. Moreover, the GPU unit of the Snapdragon 730G chip has a 15% higher performance compared to the standard version of the Snapdragon 730.
Observers believe that the regular version of the Snapdragon 730 will serve as the “heart” of the Xiaomi novelty. Other characteristics of the upcoming smartphone are still kept secret.
According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Xiaomi is in fourth place in the list of the largest smartphone manufacturers. Last year, the company delivered 122,6 million devices, occupying 8,7% of the world market.
