Microsoft's humorous video about the creation of the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition

Microsoft Corporation, to emphasize its aspirations for the future, recently introduced a cheaper Xbox One S All-Digital Edition game console, which does not have a built-in optical drive. Now she has presented a video about the creation of the system. Apparently, the playful mood in the company did not go away after April 1 (or maybe then the video was filmed) - the ad was made in a humorous way:

The description of the video reads: "Inspired by a true story, with a few slightly embellished and a number of completely fake scenes. Find out how the designers of the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition took the leap to an all-digital Xbox console."

The content is no less funny and tells how the designers struggled with the task of making the Xbox One purely digital, because this has never happened before (except for movies, music, books, of course). Trying to throw away all the components of the console, they came to the conclusion that in this state the system does not allow you to play. They lost people along the way (playing Halo), but still came up with an ingenious solution: simply remove the optical drive.

“The all-digital Xbox is like our new baby. If the child looked like a robot, was made of white plastic and metal and worked on a specialized single-chip system. Well, otherwise, yes - it's like our new child, ”the employees of the software giant finish their humoresque.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, in addition to the lack of a drive, is fully consistent with the regular Xbox One S: it supports HDR output, 4K video playback (for some services), and Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound technologies. The console is equipped with a 1TB hard drive and comes with Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves and Minecraft. The set-top box should appear on sale on May 7 at a price of 18 rubles against 990 rubles for the usual 23-TB version.

A little earlier, Microsoft presented a video of unpacking its "digital" system:
