The Sensor Tower analytical platform studied the statistics of the mobile game Dr. Mario World. According to experts, in 72 hours the project was installed more than 2 million times. In addition, it brought Nintendo more than $100 thousand through in-game purchases.
In terms of revenue, the game became the worst launch of the corporation in recent times. It was surpassed by Super Mario Run ($6,5 million), Fire Emblem Heroes ($11,6 million), Animal Crossing ($1,4 million) and Dragalia Lost ($250 thousand). In terms of the number of installations, the new product was able to surpass only Dragalia Lost.
According to experts, Nintendo has nothing to fear and Dr.'s small income. Mario World is associated with the genre of the project. The game differs from the company's top projects (Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes) and is closer to the genre of logic puzzles, such as Candy Crush Friends Saga. The results are comparable: for comparison, Candy Crush Friends Saga earned $137 thousand over the same period.
As for the popularity of the game, this is explained by its belonging to one of the most popular franchises in the gaming industry - Mario.
Dr. Mario World was released on July 9 in 60 regions. Unfortunately, the game is not yet officially available in Russia. Whether it will appear in the Russian-language App Store and Play Market is not specified.
