Huawei recently started selling the Mate X in China, which is the company's first foldable smartphone and was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February this year. Now, a few weeks after the device is available for purchase on the market, the Chinese giant has announced prices for repairs and various parts of the smartphone. Screen replacement was the most expensive.
Replacing the screen is understandably the most expensive, because the smartphone has a folding display, but the prices turned out to be very high. The company said that replacing the screen on the Huawei Mate X will cost 7080 yuan, which is roughly equal to $1007. In addition, the replacement of the battery will cost 278 yuan ($40), the motherboard - 3579 yuan, that is, $509, and the cameras - 698 yuan ($99).
Huawei Mate X has a large 8-inch screen with a resolution of 2480 × 2200 pixels with an aspect ratio of 8:7,1 and fairly thin bezels when unfolded. When folded, it turns into a phone with two displays. One side has a 6,6-inch (2480 × 1148 pixels) 19,5:9 screen, while the other side has a 6,38-inch (2480 × 892 pixels), 25:9.
The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It supports two SIM cards (nano only), but only SIM 1 can work on 5G networks. The user is also free to replace the second SIM with a Huawei NM card up to 256 GB. The device comes with a 7nm Balong 5000 modem that provides 5G support.
The phone runs Android 9 Pie operating system with EMUI 9.1.1 shell, supports NFC, dual-frequency GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, and a USB Type-C port. The Mate X has two built-in batteries that offer a total charging capacity of 4500 mAh and support SuperCharge technology up to 55W.
