A few months ago, Google announced plans to release a series of car accessories that will offer the owner another way to use the Google Assistant voice assistant.
To do this, the company resorted to cooperation with third-party manufacturers. One of the first results of this initiative was the $50 Roav Bolt car charger, which is Google Assistant-enabled and developed in partnership with Anker.
The Roav Bolt is a fairly simple device that plugs into your car's cigarette lighter socket. It is equipped with two USB ports, as well as an AUX connector and can be used as a Google Home Mini smart speaker, but for a car.
Saying "Hey Google" is enough to turn on the smart assistant, but there's also a physical button you can press to skip this step.
The charger is currently only compatible with Android phones. The app for iOS devices is still under development.
