International Data Corporation (IDC) has published its forecast for the consumer information technology (IT) market for the coming years.
We are talking about the supply of personal computers and various portable devices. In addition, mobile telecommunications services and emerging areas are taken into consideration. The latter include virtual and augmented reality headsets, wearable gadgets, drones, robotic systems and devices for the modern smart home.
So, it is reported that this year the volume of the world market of consumer IT solutions will reach $1,32 trillion. If this forecast is justified, growth in relation to the previous year will be at the level of 3,5%.
The so-called traditional IT solutions (computers, mobile devices and telecommunications services) will bring about 96% of the total cost in the consumer IT market in 2019.
In subsequent years, the industry will post a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3,0%. As a result, in 2022 the volume of the corresponding market will be $1,43 trillion.
