The VG247 portal on its YouTube channel published a video comparing two versions of Skyrim - from and expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. In the latest project, the province looks much better, which is felt in many elements.
The upcoming addition to TESO will add to the game the western part of Skyrim, on the basis of which the comparison was made. The journalists picked the same locations from the two games, but it is important to note that they recorded their video on the Greymoor public test server, since the expansion has not yet been released. Keep in mind that the final version of the add-on may look a little better or worse.
At the beginning of the video, we briefly talk about what Greymoor is. The expansion will add a new storyline, dungeons, random events and a relic system, rework vampire abilities, and introduce the Aegis of Kyne challenge. Then the comparison begins and footage of the docks of Solitude is shown. In the very first seconds, it is clear that Skyrim in Greymoor has become much prettier in comparison with The Elder Scrolls V: the quality of textures has increased, the environment has become more detailed, the number of shadows has increased, the shadows themselves look more realistic. Volumetric lighting has been greatly tightened, as well as the drawing distance - now various objects are clearly visible at a great distance.
The creators from ZeniMax Online also reworked some of the locations: the appearance of the fortress walls of Solitude has changed, and the territory of the village of Dragon Bridge has been significantly expanded. A low stone wall was placed at the entrance to it, there were more buildings inside, tents, workshops and places where a fire was made appeared.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor will be released on May 26 on PC, and on June 9 it will reach PS4 and Xbox One. This is the first chapter of the upcoming massive "Dark Heart of Skyrim" (Dark Heart of Skyrim).
